Every time we connect a computer to removable-media such as flash, memory card or CD / DVD, the Windows autorun window will appear on your computer screen automatically. Actually the function is intended to allow a user, as it provides some of the menu as opening a folder, play video / music (if such there are multimedia files, etc..

However, these functions can be harmful to computer security. Besides the Internet, external media is the greatest means of spread of the virus. When an external storage medium containing the virus is connected to your computer and open it using the 'Open files to view files' that exist in the Windows autorun, the virus directly into your computer system. Moreover, viruses can be activated automatically as Autorun.inf.
How to fix this? Of course by pressing the 'cancel' each time the autorun window appears, or even easier if you disable the AutoRun feature in Windows. To disable the Windows autorun feature is highly recommended for the safety of your computer from viruses spread via external media.Disabling the Autorun feature in Windows
Step 1 :
Open the Run dialog window via the Start Menu or by pressing the Windows key + R on the keyboard. Once the Run window opens, when gpedit.msc and click OK.

After that, the Local Group Policy Editor will appear on the computer screen.

Step 2:
In the Local Group Policy Editor, click Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components. Underneath you will find the AutoPlay Policies. That's where the Windows Autorun feature settings.

Step 3:
On the right AutoPlay Policies, right click on Turn off AutoPlay, and select Edit. Then in the new window that appears, select Enabled.

Click the Apply button and OK to finish.
Now Autorun feature will no longer appear on your computer any time you connect the media / external drive.
